Stitched Textiles

The time of the session is 9-1. The cost is £25 per session (or £60 for 3 sessions)

Our main focus is trying different techniques with machine embroidery.

In the past we have created pictures based on many themes for example
o Winter Landscape using fabric paints
o Voiles layering and stitching
o Fabric collage using bondaweb
o Hand dyed materials
o Layering painting and stitching in the style of Wendy Dolan
o Using dissolvable fabrics
o Hand painted and machined landscapes
o Pebble cushion panel
Future sessions planned include:
o Exploiting metallic threads on surfaces based on pelmet Vilene
o Using a soldering iron on synthetic fabrics
o ‘All torn up’ an approach to collage using paper leading to a mixed media piece.
o Hand stitching and embellishments

If you have a machine and are curious about developing your techniques and skills, please come along and help will be given during the session.
