Last year, we completed a vibrant project in collaboration with New Ferry Community Land Trust (CLT), funded by the Arts Council England's Let’s Create Jubilee Fund. This initiative supported voluntary and community groups in developing creative and cultural activities for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, made possible through funding from the National Lottery.
The Brief
Our task was to carry out creative consultations regarding potential new murals for New Ferry High Street, centred around the theme of the Jubilee. This work was part of New Ferry CLT’s revival of the beloved 'Party in the Park' event, which provided a fantastic opportunity to engage the local community through free art activities.
We aimed to invite residents to share their thoughts and ideas, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in the new artwork. The feedback gathered during these consultations was invaluable, enabling us to incorporate local stories and sentiments into the designs.

Bringing Ideas to Life
In addition to community engagement, our talented artists, TLC Illustration and Rachael Prime, developed their own mural concepts inspired by the conversations we had and the rich history of New Ferry. These designs reflect the essence of the community and capture the spirit of the Jubilee celebrations.

We enjoyed working on this project, as it has been valuable for us as an organisation to engage in initiatives like this, celebrating both the Queen's Jubilee and the unique character of New Ferry.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project and helped make it a success. We look forward to exploring more creative opportunities with our community in the future!
