Discovering creativity: An inside look at Hazlehurst Studios' Open Day

If you haven't had the chance to attend an open day at Hazlehurst Studios, here's a glimpse of what you can expect. Each event is unique, reflecting our ongoing creative endeavours. Although we've been quite occupied lately, we didn't want to miss sharing some highlights from our last open day in September. Now, just in time to entice you, we're offering a sneak peek as we gear up for our upcoming event on Thursday, December 14th, from 3 pm to 8 pm.

In September, our focus was on celebrating and welcoming our new studio holders, who joined us in August. The studio was adorned with bunting created from the mural that once adorned the Camden Buildings (earmarked for redevelopment). We have exciting plans for the mural's future with our resident upcycling expert, Nick. Feel free to enquire about it if you're curious.

Meet the Artists

Who are our new studio holders? Courtney Reynolds, Sassy Makes, Tim Sumner, Rosie Roo, Toni Louise Carter, and Lauren Quayle, not forgetting Gail Louise, who joined us earlier in April. Lauren has assumed the role of our resident photographer, capturing the essence of the day. Can you identify the studio holders mentioned, in the photographs below? For a comprehensive list of all our current studio holders, visit our 'Artists' page.

Our new studio holders warmly invited friends and family to explore their new creative home, while others visited our studios for the first time. We extend our thanks to all the individuals who consistently support our events; seeing familiar faces is always a delight!

The Pop-Up Shop

The studios feature talented creatives who excel in crafting captivating displays, showcasing our creations for sale. A pop-up shop has become a permanent feature of our open days. As we continue to grow, Ellie faces the challenge of presenting our work in a unique way each time.

Explore the Print Room and Get Creative

In addition to touring the new buildings and meeting the artists, visitors had the chance to participate in hands-on activities in our bespoke print room. Trying your hand at printing something proved to be great fun! More about our print facilities in this blog post - An Intriouction to Print.

If these offerings don't entice you to join us for our next Open Day, perhaps the promise of mince pies and more enticing items will.
